This is a great tutorial to get you started, quick and easy to paint but I’ve slowed everything right down in this so I can walk you through every step.   This simple robin encompasses lots of the techniques I use in all my paintings and lots of essential basis watercolour techniques.    I have provided a few option on the source image, if you fancy more of a challenge or you have already painted this then try one of the other images.  All the same techniques apply, it just a different drawing.  Another great challenge is to paint all three at the same time.  Working on multiple versions of the same or similar paintings at the same time is a great way of trying different things.   The nature of loose and expressive watercolour painting is such that it is impossible to recreate an exact copy.   Don’t try to copy me, try to create you own version.
