All about Karen...

Many times I’ve had cause to feel very fortunate to have discovered watercolour, it teaches us so much.  It can help us to unwind, it’s almost mindfulness-with-brushes in the way that it’s all-absorbing, it favours perseverance, patience and bravery - the finest of human traits.  It is simultaneously seemingly-uncontrollable and humbling, but exhilarating and elating.  It gives and gives.  Research is even beginning to suggest that painting is good for brain health!

If you’ve never painted before, rest assured I’ll be here every step of the way.  I’ll help you develop more confidence, accelerate your budding techniques, and create paintings that will not only make you proud, but that you want to show to others.  I’ll share your celebration-dances and be a solution-wielding, listening ear on the forum when you encounter obstacles.  Notice ‘when’, not ‘if’ - there will be obstacles, no matter your level, but that’s what makes overcoming them all the more rewarding.  I’m excited for your journey, and all the painting joy you have ahead of you!

If you’ve painted before, I’m here to share the knowledge I have, helping you to achieve the results you’re after, while having a lot of fun along the way.

I think the most important quality to choose in any teacher - after being able to teach with clarity - is compassion.  I remember my initial struggles with watercolour well.  In fact, you may still see a few in the tutorials as I battle away!  I have huge compassion and patience for any person willing to ‘give it a go’ and I believe anyone can learn to paint, with the right tuition.  So join me, I know you can do this!  Perhaps you’ve always wanted to?  Let’s find your inner artist together.
